I have been actively campaigning for a greater provision of dental services within the Chorley area.
During health questions in the House of Commons I urged ministers to "get a grip" of primary care trusts who are failing to provide NHS dentistry to local people.
My question comes after a number of complaints from constituents who are struggling to register with a dentist on the NHS.
The waiting lists are growing and there are no vacancies for the people in Chorley.
The government has made more and more money available to the NHS, in particular to ensure that everyone has access to an NHS dentist.
Unfortunately this is not yet the case and I want to see action taken now in order to help constituents who are struggling to register with a dentist.
I have raised this with the chief executive of the primary care trust and will continue to press him for urgent action in relation to this matter.
