Petition for hospice funding

Funding for our hospices continues to be a major issue and I am working with local campaigner Mrs Carol Gregory in organising a petition which calls on the government to increase funding to hospices through the NHS.

Everyone who has had any involvement or understanding of the work done in our hospices knows how important their role is in supporting terminally ill people and their families.

Money is always in short supply and huge fundraising efforts are made all-year round.

Our own local hospices, Derian House Children's Hospice and St Catherine's Hospice, both provide a first class service but struggle to make ends meet.

I want this to be addressed and if we can get people to sign the petition I can take it to Parliament and show the government the strength of feeling which exists within local communities such as Chorley.
