With the recent results of the British Social Attitudes survey we have learned that more and more people do not necessarily feel British, but distinguish between England, Scotland and Wales.
While I still believe in the Union there is no harm in celebrating our English identity and I believe that the best way to achieve this would be to introduce a national holiday on St George's Day.
I have raised this matter in Parliament.
