Great Harwood care home to make improvements
1:43pm Tuesday 10th December 2013 in Helen Mead
A CARE home in Great Harwood has been told to make improvements after minor concerns were raised by a health watchdog.
The Care Quality Commission found St Huberts Lodge, in St Huberts Road, was failing to meet two out of five standards examined during a recent inspection, around ‘consent to care’ and ‘supporting workers’.
The inspectors made several positive comments about the home, but added: “The medication system was safe and people told us they received their medicines when they needed them.
“Though some improvements are required in relation to the recording of medications received into the home.
“We found that staff are not receiving appropriate professional development. Records did not show that staff had been provided with on-going training to enable them to develop.”
Ian Cardwell, the home’s manager, said: “We are getting on top of this and the standards will be met within three months.”
