LILLY MARES KNOWLES (nee Pomfret) On July 4, 2012, peacefully in hospital, with her family by her side, Lilly, aged 96 years. Beloved wife of the late John, much loved mother of Cynthia and Kathleen, dear mother in law of Alan and Ian, treasured granny of Christopher, Alison, Andrew and Nicollia also great granny of Daisy-Mae and baby Dylan. A service in St James' Church, Lower Darwen on Friday, July 13 at 1.30 pm will be followed by interment at Darwen Eastern Cemetery. Family flowers only please, but if desired donations may be sent for Cancer Research UK c/o Ainsworth's Funeral Service, Church Bank Street, Darwen BB3 3HA. Tel: 01254 873290.
